The Rain
By Caryn Moya Block
The rain falls so hard it bounces up when it hits the ground.
The sound of pounding, like a chorus of drums in my head.
Waiting for it to end, I close my eyes and hope sleep will let me escape.
Into a dream of sunshine and light, where my spirit will lift again.
